Virtual Underground : ウィキペディア英語版
Virtual Underground

The Virtual Underground is a video game news and discussion community. It originated as a user-created board on the GameSpot Forums. Headed by (N3MO ), and abbreviated as the "VU", it was at its peak, the 6th largest user-created board on the site.
It split off into its own website after the Jeff Gerstmann debacle, in which a reporter for GameSpot was fired allegedly due to external pressure from an advertiser receiving a less than desirable review for a featured game. Not wanting to support a media outlet that would cave so easily to advertiser pressure, several VU members started their own site and community, and built outward from there.
As an old in-joke, Virtual Underground posters commonly referred to themselves as the "Gamespot Wankers"
